A fine art portrait is created as a genuine work of art, not just a photograph. With 30 years behind the camera, I use considered studio lighting, a timeless palette, and classical composition to capture your dog's true character.
The result is an image with the depth and atmosphere of a painting, meticulously hand-retouched and printed on museum-quality fine art paper, so it feels substantial the moment you hold it.

The Completion of Your Artwork
A fine art portrait reaches its full presence only when the framing becomes part of the work itself. It gives the portrait depth, atmosphere and a distinct sense of character - becoming, in many ways, the home of the artwork.
For this reason, each portrait is completed within my own framing atelier. Rather than choosing a standard solution, the framing is developed as part of a thoughtful and collaborative process.
I keep a carefully curated selection of high-quality frame profiles available, ranging from restrained and minimalist to more classic, antique and expressive styles.
Together, we select the framing that feels most harmonious with the portrait, the interior it will live in, and the atmosphere you want the final piece to carry.
FROM ENQUIRY TO FINISHED PORTRAIT
1. Initial Enquiry

It all starts with your enquiry

We'll organise an phone call covering what to expect from your session including timing, location, and what to bring.

It's a chance for me to learn about your dog's personality, so I can plan how to bring that character out in the portrait.

By the end of the call, you'll have a clear picture of the day ahead and feel confident heading into the session.
2. The Photo Session

The session takes place in a beautiful 160-year-old stables.

This is the fun part — we work through a range of poses, lighting, and compositions until we capture the right shot.

I'll direct you and your furry friend to create images similar to what you see in my galleries.
3. The Portrait Selection

Shortly after your session, a private online gallery will be emailed to you, containing all selected portraits from the session.

This allows the images to be viewed quietly and without pressure before selecting your final photos.
4. Refinement & Coordination

Once your portraits are selected, the editing magic happens in Photoshop.

You'll receive a first digital preview, giving you a feel for the overall atmosphere and visual direction of your portrait.

From there, we fine-tune the details together — size, framing, and presentation — including interior visualisation if you'd like to see how a piece will look in your space.
5. Finishing & Delivery

Your portrait and chosen frame are brought together as one finished piece.

Carefully packaged for safe transport, it then begins its journey to you to find its place in your home.

Every fine art portrait begins with a personal photography session, and gradually takes shape as a complete piece of art. Your chosen image is carefully refined in a timeless, painterly style, then finished as a mounted fine art canvas/print, individually framed for your home.
